So, another MWknd has past and driving away from the farm has left me with the same feelings as last year. This was the best MW ever. As I write these words I find it sad that I can't express this better than a sorority girl talking about her first social. So perhaps doing a recount of the experience itself will help me. This year, everything seemed to have been upgraded as well as simplified. The fact that the gas grill wasn't even mentioned was a true step forward. Everything cooked on the fire through cast iron and pie irons only added to the culinary excellence. And for those of you guys who took on the food kudos and thank you. Paul's mother fuckin' miracle beef and pepper and chicken and peppers were remarkable. Joe nailed breakfast two days in a row of salty, meaty, spammy goodness. And how can you forget the fried cheese from Cyprus. And what else can you say about Chris's loins. Very tasty indeed.
As much as it aggravates me to my core, I loved we added golf back into the fray. If golf needs to be played, I think a sevensome and beers are the only way to go. And, not only did we add golf back, but another day as well. Thursday night created the length and the feeling that we were all really away from whatever we needed to be away from.
So we didn't drink enough of the the last six-TEL. I think we were taken by the masterfully mixed Side Cars and Manhattans and the potent MJ of Pete O. But we did get to feel the weight of a 357 magnum, 9mm, .40 and .45. Clint Eastwood would have been proud. Not only of the multiple hand guns to choose from, but the range that was created - because, its safer. Huh? I will admit that I like shooting skeet alot more, Guy put it to me best when he said,"yeah, handguns aren't as much fun unless you actally shooting as someone." I'll agree on principle. I loved that over-under shotgun.
There is so much more. B-ware brings t-shirts. Not a dictator. A 1.5 hour nap. Liberty stopped barking at me.Afternoon guitar jams. Rush is better than Yes. Joe and Eric- a buddy cop movie. Cassidy where did you go? SPAM. Wood got chopped. An art director in a cornhole. Cornhole. That water is still cold.
The mountain did provide. I am balanced. Content. And looking forward to MW9.
Cheers,
Steward of MW.
